Description

  • Build and scale real-time invariant enforcement across Coinbase’s fund flows.
  • Contribute to the core platform, including the detection engine, invariant framework, and tooling used by partner teams to onboard fund flows.
  • Own workstreams end-to-end, from designing correctness models with partner teams to operating them in production.
  • Build AI guardrails, including predictive consistency models and proactive invariant discovery to surface coverage gaps before incidents occur.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical execution on high-impact projects.
  • Work with teams across Coinbase that move money to define and enforce financial contract rules.
  • Detect violations in real time and help ensure system behavior remains correct across all fund flows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong sense of correctness at the system level, not just whether individual code works.
  • Experience building platform-level infrastructure used by multiple teams.
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to hold the problem end-to-end.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows.
  • Ability to apply human-in-the-loop practices and continuously adapt as AI tools evolve.
  • Preferred experience in a rapidly growing company, from startup to mid-size.
  • Preferred experience with financial, payments, or reconciliation systems.
  • Preferred experience with streaming data infrastructure such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
  • Preferred experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
  • Preferred experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems.
  • Preferred crypto-forward experience, including interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $186,065 to $218,900 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
