Description

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality backend applications.
  • Lead the backend system roadmap with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Develop new features that improve customers' shopping experiences.
  • Own major components of the product and ensure they meet internal and external expectations.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers, product teams, and data scientists on product development.
  • Plan, execute, deploy, and maintain projects from inception through production.
  • Help drive consensus across teams and support a unified approach to product development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience with a strong record of project delivery.
  • Proficiency in backend languages such as Ruby or Go.
  • Strong unit testing and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building scalable solutions and architecture (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ML model development and iteration (preferred).
  • Experience developing applications using GraphQL (preferred).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog (preferred).
  • Experience with database systems, particularly PostgreSQL and AWS OpenSearch (preferred).
