Description

  • Identify and research new donor and partner prospects aligned with Code.org’s mission and priorities.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads through outreach, referrals, and prospecting strategies.
  • Conduct discovery meetings and pitch conversations to align prospect goals with funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, presentations, and donor materials.
  • Drive the full fundraising cycle from first touch through close, with emphasis on multi-year, six-figure commitments.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and pipeline records in Salesforce.
  • Coordinate with development operations on gift processing, reporting, and stewardship.
  • Partner with Marketing, Programs, and Product teams to tailor donor messaging and align with organizational priorities.
  • Represent Code.org at conferences, donor meetings, and industry events as needed.
  • Meet individual fundraising goals and contribute to team initiatives that diversify the donor base and test new strategies.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of frontline nonprofit fundraising experience with direct donor engagement and net-new donor cultivation.
  • Demonstrated success managing a donor portfolio with individual gifts ranging from $25K–$100K.
  • Experience owning annual fundraising goals of $1M+ with clear accountability for results.
  • Proven ability to manage the full fundraising cycle from prospect identification through stewardship and close.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a consultative, donor-first approach.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to track progress and manage a pipeline.
  • Demonstrated passion for education, equity, or technology; familiarity with philanthropic, CSR, or nonprofit funding landscapes is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and work within the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be willing to travel 10–20% of the time.
