Description

  • Own and continuously improve key antivirus product metrics and drive the department roadmap across three teams.
  • Lead the end-to-end malware detection pipeline from file ingestion and cloud analysis to verdict delivery and cleanup.
  • Make architectural decisions for distributed data processing systems and related infrastructure.
  • Drive modernization initiatives such as AI-assisted malware analysis and AI-based rules creation.
  • Optimize cloud processing throughput for tens of millions of samples processed daily.
  • Plan and manage infrastructure capacity across compute, storage, and databases.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow engineers and team leaders across three geographically distributed teams.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies with Product, QA, Infrastructure, Support, and other engineering teams.
  • Ensure signature release quality through automated testing and release pipelines.
  • Monitor detection quality, false positives, cleanup success, and production incident response.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a management role leading multiple teams.
  • Past experience leading security products, security labs, or security research teams.
  • Deep expertise in malware analysis and antivirus technologies, including static and dynamic analysis, signature-based detection, heuristic engines, and file classification.
  • Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data processing, preferably using Airflow, Luigi, Kafka, or similar tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure at scale, including compute clusters, storage systems such as Ceph or S3, and databases such as ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Redis.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and containerized deployments with Docker.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Sentry, and log aggregation systems.
  • Experience in the web hosting security domain, such as cPanel, Plesk, or shared hosting environments.
  • Background in machine learning applied to malware detection, including transformers or LLMs for code analysis, is preferred.
  • Experience with GCP services, PHP internals, PHP emulation, or building and scaling cloud antivirus or threat intelligence platforms is preferred.
