Description

  • Own logical and physical data modeling, warehouse design, and layered data curation across staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
  • Lead the design and delivery of ingestion, API integrations, custom connectors, ELT/ETL processes, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Establish data engineering practices across Git, CI/CD, automated dbt testing, environment isolation, credential management, and deployment standards.
  • Develop governance and observability strategies covering data lineage, freshness, completeness, and automated failure alerting.
  • Optimize Snowflake queries, clustering, warehouse sizing, execution times, and compute costs.
  • Architect semantic layers, data structures, and access patterns that support AI agents and automated workflows.
  • Evaluate and modernize data tools, frameworks, and architecture patterns.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, design reviews, mentorship, and constructive challenge to Analytical Engineers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, Data Science/ML, and business stakeholders to maintain a reliable, scalable data ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Tech Lead in cloud data environments.
  • Deep hands-on expertise administering, tuning, and modeling in Snowflake.
  • Advanced dbt expertise, including macros, incremental models, custom tests, packages, and dbt-native CI/CD testing.
  • Expert SQL skills, including execution-plan tuning, window functions, and common table expressions, plus strong Python proficiency.
  • Experience with ingestion and orchestration tools such as Matillion, Apache Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or Fivetran.
  • Experience operating Git and CI/CD pipelines with automated data testing, deployment validation, and secure credential rotation.
  • Experience preparing semantic models, feature stores, APIs, or access layers for AI agents, ML pipelines, or LLM workflows.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem decomposition, experimentation, and proof-of-concept development skills.
  • Business-level English and the ability to communicate technical trade-offs and influence teams in a global remote environment.
  • Preferred: exposure to Snowflake Cortex, AI Classify, RAG, LLM agents, MCP servers, Sigma, or n8n; applicants must already be authorized to work in the position’s location without visa sponsorship.
