Description

  • Execute the Compass AI product roadmap in partnership with the VP of Product and translate strategy into deliverable work.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases across advising, enrollment, financial aid, retention, and student wellbeing.
  • Help shape the evolution from current tooling to agentic and autonomous workflows, including multi-agent coordination and advisor copilots.
  • Lead discovery with institutional customers and end users to validate hypotheses and uncover unmet needs.
  • Design and run pilots and prototype evaluations, then synthesize feedback into product decisions and course corrections.
  • Translate product strategy into epics, problem statements, user stories, and success criteria for engineering and design.
  • Resolve ambiguity early and maintain clear documentation and communication of product decisions and work in progress.
  • Partner with engineering to shape solutions, surface technical considerations early, and align on expectations before implementation.
  • Communicate roadmap updates to Sales, Customer Success, leadership, and go-to-market teams.
  • Support expansion of the Compass AI agent library and the integration of new AI tooling, workflows, and data pipelines into the platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through delivery.
  • Direct experience with AI/ML products, including LLM-powered tools, conversational experiences, or autonomous agent systems, ideally in an enterprise or SaaS environment.
  • Experience executing within a defined strategy and moving work forward with strong judgment and initiative.
  • Experience in or adjacent to higher education, edtech, or student success platforms is a plus.
  • Deep fluency in the AI landscape, including model developments, emerging tooling, agent frameworks, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort involving the right stakeholders, including the VP of Product, at the right time.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent AI initiatives at different stages of maturity.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI workflow design, prompt engineering, and human-in-the-loop system design.
  • Solid product operations experience with roadmap tooling, documentation, stakeholder communication, and tools such as Jira, Airtable, Asana, or Confluence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
