Description

  • Execute the Compass AI product roadmap in close collaboration with the VP of Product.
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential AI use cases across advising, enrollment, financial aid, retention, and student wellbeing.
  • Help shape the transition from current tooling to agentic and autonomous workflows, including multi-agent coordination and proactive outreach.
  • Lead structured discovery with institutional customers to validate hypotheses and pressure-test AI concepts.
  • Spend time with advisors, enrollment counselors, financial aid staff, and other end users to understand their workflows and pain points.
  • Design and run pilots and prototype evaluations, then synthesize feedback into product decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a human-in-the-loop framework for actionable, trustworthy AI recommendations.
  • Translate strategy into epics, problem statements, user stories, and success criteria for engineering and design.
  • Partner closely with engineering to shape solutions, incorporate technical considerations early, and resolve ambiguity before build starts.
  • Communicate roadmap updates and product decisions to Sales, Customer Success, leadership, Legal, Compliance, and go-to-market teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in product management with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through delivery.
  • Direct experience with AI/ML products, including LLM-powered tools, conversational experiences, or autonomous agent systems, ideally in an enterprise or SaaS context.
  • Experience executing effectively within a defined strategy and moving work forward with strong judgment.
  • Experience in or adjacent to higher education, edtech, or student success platforms is a plus.
  • Deep fluency in the AI landscape, including model developments, emerging tooling, agent frameworks, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to involve the right stakeholders, including the VP of Product, at the right time.
  • Comfort managing multiple concurrent AI initiatives at different stages of maturity.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI workflow design, prompt engineering, and human-in-the-loop system design.
  • Solid product operations fundamentals with roadmap tooling and documentation tools such as Jira, Airtable, Asana, or Confluence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain AI concepts to audiences with varying technical fluency.
