Description

Design, build, and maintain Java backend services and RESTful APIs.
Write clean, testable code with unit and integration test coverage using JUnit.
Model data, write efficient Oracle SQL, and tune queries, indexes, and transactions.
Maintain and refactor legacy modules, including XSLT-rendered pages, and support their migration.
Break features into technical tasks, estimate work, and identify risks during refinement sessions.
Review pull requests and maintain coding standards and technical documentation.
Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, DevOps, the Product Owner, and Tech Lead in an agile squad.
Support build pipelines, deployments, production operations, and incident resolution across environments.

Requirements

Around 5 years of professional Java backend development experience, using Java 11+; Java 17/21 preferred.
Automated testing experience with JUnit and mocking frameworks such as Mockito.
Hands-on Maven experience, including multi-module projects, dependency management, and build lifecycles.
Experience building Java web applications, including REST APIs, JSON/XML handling, and HTTP request/response lifecycles.
Knowledge of Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, or a similar Java framework, plus JPA/Hibernate persistence.
Understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.
Experience with Git, branching strategies, pull request workflows, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban and communicating in English with international stakeholders.
Experience with cloud-native Java frameworks such as Quarkus, Apache Kafka, AWS services, XSLT/XML/XPath legacy migrations, or Flyway/Liquibase (preferred).
Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, OWASP awareness, observability tools, SonarQube, or regulated environments such as banking (preferred).
