Description

  • Lead and develop a team of technical recruiters, coaching for quality, screening standards, debrief quality, and professional growth.
  • Partner closely with engineering, product, and security leadership, including the CPO, Head of Engineering, and Head of Security.
  • Standardize and improve technical interviewer training through a practical, low-lift program tied to calibration outcomes.
  • Own recruiting strategy across engineering, product, and security, including sourcing strategy, hiring timelines, and quality thresholds.
  • Manage a high-volume, high-complexity recruiting pipeline and keep the team focused and unblocked as priorities shift.
  • Bring data and honest assessments to leadership conversations and push back constructively when needed.
  • Build recruiting infrastructure such as interviewer training programs, interview committees, or calibration frameworks.
  • Coach high-performing individual contributors and address performance issues when they arise.
  • Position Chainguard competitively against late-stage pre-IPO companies, FAANG teams, and early-stage startups to close candidates.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in technical recruiting.
  • At least 2 years of people management experience leading a recruiting team.
  • Experience supporting an engineering organization through significant scale.
  • A strong point of view on what strong engineering and product management talent looks like.
  • Experience building recruiting infrastructure from scratch, such as interview committees, interviewer training programs, or calibration frameworks.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior technical stakeholders and use data to support recommendations.
  • Experience coaching high-performing recruiters and managing performance issues.
  • Experience closing candidates who had strong competing offers from well-known companies and startups.
  • A developed understanding of how recruiting needs change as an organization grows.
  • Experience working in high-growth, high-complexity hiring environments.

  • Base salary range of $160,000 to $205,000 USD.
