Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of core Libraries Platform services, pipelines, and package index infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain automation for artifact creation, updates, verification, vulnerability scanning, remediation, SBOM and provenance generation, and policy enforcement.
  • Build and operate shared platform services including package indexes, registry mirrors, metadata services, and orchestration tooling.
  • Develop internal developer tools and CLIs, often in Go, to improve how libraries are built, tested, and shipped at scale.
  • Integrate platform tooling with build systems and CI/CD workflows across multiple ecosystems.
  • Drive reliability, scalability, and observability by defining SLOs, building monitoring and alerting, and leading incident response and post-incident improvements.
  • Debug and resolve complex dependency, toolchain, compiler, packaging, CI/CD, and registry/package index issues in production.
  • Partner with ecosystem, platform, delivery, sustaining, and security teams to meet reliability, security, and product requirements.
  • Mentor and unblock other engineers through design reviews, documentation, and hands-on debugging.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating infrastructure for language ecosystems or developer platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), or strong readiness to ramp quickly.
  • Proven experience building and owning developer tooling and automation such as plugins, CLIs, code generators, or custom pipelines.
  • Strong background in CI/CD, cloud-native infrastructure, and IaC, including Docker/OCI, Kubernetes, public cloud platforms, Terraform, and GitHub Actions/Argo/Tekton or equivalents.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve complex toolchain, compiler, packaging, and infrastructure failures in production.
  • Comfort working in SRE, platform, or DevOps-style responsibilities with reliability, observability, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication skills in a remote, distributed environment with a focus on documentation and collaboration.
  • Ownership mindset with experience setting technical direction and driving critical outcomes in an early, high-impact area.
  • Open source contributions in ecosystem tooling, libraries, or packaging are preferred.
  • Experience with software supply chain security concepts such as SLSA, SBOMs, sigstore, provenance, and attestations is preferred.
  • Background with Linux distributions, packaging, and reproducible build systems such as Alpine, Wolfi, Debian, Bazel, CMake, or Ninja is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML packaging and infrastructure for Python libraries or ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is preferred.
  • Prior experience in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps roles owning infrastructure for developer productivity or CI/CD is preferred.
