Description

  • Own the health and uptime of deployed imaging systems and drive resolution when issues arise.
  • Build and maintain modular production services for edge-compute devices in austere environments.
  • Triage, diagnose, and resolve problems spanning software, firmware, networking, and hardware.
  • Support field operators and non-technical users in troubleshooting deployed systems.
  • Serve as a technical representative and subject matter expert in external product and customer integrations.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and platform engineers to design, build, and test complex functionality.
  • Develop broad end-to-end system understanding and optimize service behavior when components fail.
  • Travel to support field testing and customer integrations, including on-site work when needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with meaningful production ownership after release.
  • Strong Python and C++ skills, with the ability to work effectively in either language.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux-based environments, including bare-metal hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose issues across system boundaries such as networking, services, and hardware interactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time for field testing and customer integrations.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Experience with gRPC or similar RPC frameworks (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Linux service management and observability practices (preferred).
  • React/JSX experience for UI work (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Nix or NixOS (preferred).
  • Experience supporting fielded or deployed systems rather than only development environments (preferred).
