Description

  • Define and evolve the technical architecture for Caseware’s AI platform, including standards, contracts, and design principles.
  • Design, build, and operate AI systems powered by LLMs, retrieval pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI-enabled services.
  • Develop multi-agent systems, agent execution runtimes, workflow orchestration, memory management, and human-in-the-loop capabilities.
  • Design evaluation, governance, auditability, and traceability frameworks for AI systems.
  • Translate new AI advances into maintainable platform capabilities that address customer problems.
  • Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, models, frameworks, and cloud capabilities.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts that inform platform strategy and future investments.
  • Drive reliability, observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices across AI systems.
  • Partner with Product, QA, Security, Domain SMEs, and Engineering teams to deliver business value.
  • Mentor engineers across teams and help raise overall engineering maturity.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with impact beyond a single team.
  • 2+ years building and operating production AI systems.
  • Experience designing distributed, SaaS, cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms at scale.
  • Experience implementing AI guardrails, governance controls, and safety mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of AI tradeoffs including latency, cost, accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
  • Extensive experience building and operating production systems on AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.
  • Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Experience operating systems in regulated or compliance-heavy domains (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with accounting, auditing, or financial workflows (nice to have).
  • TypeScript, NestJS, and Python experience for backend and platform work.
  • Experience with AWS EKS, AWS Lambda, AWS Bedrock, and AWS AgentCore.
  • Experience with AWS OpenSearch Serverless, AWS Textract, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Experience with LangFuse, LangSmith, LangChain, and LangGraph.
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Nx Monorepo, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
