Description

  • Create architectures, prototypes, and design proposals aligned with business needs and long-term platform strategy.
  • Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on delivery across the SDLC.
  • Design, build, and operate distributed cloud-native services and backend architectures for scalability, security, reliability, and APIs.
  • Break large initiatives into incremental, parallelizable deliveries while balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and platform health.
  • Improve build processes, CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment, automation, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Own cloud-platform security posture and CVE remediation, including secure transport and applied-cryptography patterns.
  • Use and promote responsible AI-assisted development, including establishing guardrails, automation workflows, and feedback loops.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, Security, Operations, architects, technical leads, and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor developers through design reviews, AI-assisted development sessions, and technical feedback.
  • Maintain technical documentation and represent the team in cross-functional technical discussions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with impact beyond a single team.
  • Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native SaaS or multi-tenant platforms at scale, preferably on AWS.
  • Strong software fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and code-quality practices.
  • Experience with agentic-AI software development practices and responsible evaluation of AI-generated output.
  • Experience designing and consuming HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL.
  • Deep expertise in cloud-native service architecture and experience with Java 25, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud Gateway.
  • Experience with AWS services and infrastructure tools including S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, EKS, CloudFormation, Terraform, Kubernetes/Istio, and AWS CDK.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or DocumentDB, JUnit, New Relic, GitHub, and related engineering tooling.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, cross-team architecture influence, initiative, and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Ability or willingness to work with native Windows technologies such as C++, .NET Framework, MFC, COM, and MSBuild for legacy refactoring and security work.
  • Preferred: experience with Azure or Google Cloud, Docker/Kubernetes, open-source contributions, GitHub portfolio, or applied cryptography libraries.
  • Position is fully remote and located in Colombia; successful candidates must complete a background check.
