Description

  • Conduct security reviews of Brave products across the browser and search platform.
  • Triage and fix security reports and vulnerabilities.
  • Design and implement security-relevant code changes.
  • Perform penetration tests of Brave products and infrastructure.
  • Help keep users safe across Brave’s products and services.
  • Work closely with a geographically distributed software development team in an async environment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience, or equivalent, in security engineering.
  • Experience in penetration testing and/or security auditing.
  • Proficiency in C++, including implementing and reviewing code.
  • Strong familiarity with the web security model.
  • Experience securing AWS infrastructure.
  • Comfort working and communicating asynchronously with a geographically distributed team.
  • Comfort diving into an extremely large, unfamiliar, and complex codebase.
  • Comfort using Git and collaborating on GitHub.
  • Experience contributing to large open source codebases or participating in open source communities (preferred).
  • Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Go and Rust (preferred).
  • DevOps experience (preferred).
  • Contributions to other web browsers (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Chromium’s architecture, especially security (preferred).
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and public-facing writing (preferred).
  • Interest in privacy, anonymity, and censorship resistance (preferred).
