Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for application and reporting databases to support documentation, application development, and data integration.
  • Monitor the execution and performance of daily data pipelines, triage issues, and escalate problems as needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and pipelines that feed business intelligence tools.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensure production data is accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests and contribute documentation to the engineering wiki.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
  • Work within AWS and Linux cloud environments in support of data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Share knowledge, provide visibility into accomplishments, and work effectively within a team environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development using tools such as SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or similar.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with operating clusters and always-available services.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS.
  • Experience with one or more data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI is preferred.
  • Broad experience with multiple RDBMSs including MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SaaS/cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design concepts such as star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL/DDL query tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
