Description

  • Act as an advanced user of internal and external Catalist tools, data, and products to support client requests and internal projects.
  • Understand client needs, political implications, and scope of work through ongoing communication with internal teams and partner organizations.
  • Own projects from start to finish and deliver reports, lists, and other requests on time, accurately, and in a client-friendly format.
  • Create custom data products outside the Catalist Tools scope, including reports, data processing, and digital integrations.
  • Execute requests for new business development support from the Marketing team.
  • Escalate issues and concerns to the Director of Data Support as needed.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support deliverables and future replication.
  • Support cross-departmental projects and assist other Catalist teams with underlying data work.
  • Become an internal subject matter expert on various datasets and support their use across departments.

Requirements

  • BS or BA, or relevant experience.
  • Willingness to be a creative problem solver and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to suggest process improvements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills quickly.
  • Ability to become an internal subject matter expert on various datasets.
  • Background check required.
  • Interest, familiarity, or experience with SQL, BigQuery, Python, or another relational database programming language (preferred).
  • Experience using a terminal or Unix command line interface (preferred).
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure and large-scale data workflows in AWS or GCP (preferred).
  • Experience managing projects (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Catalist data, progressive politics, voter files, and/or large commercial datasets (preferred).
  • Interest or familiarity with using LLMs in secure environments to support work products (preferred).
