Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for application and reporting databases to support documentation and data integration.
  • Monitor the execution and performance of daily data pipelines and triage or escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and pipelines for business intelligence use cases.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and keep production data accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests and contribute documentation to the engineering wiki.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and support issue resolution.
  • Work within AWS and Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Share knowledge with the team and provide visibility into work and accomplishments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development using tools such as SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or similar.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with database technologies including SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS.
  • Experience with one or more data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in always-on, always-available services.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies or knowledge of Agile.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Experience with business analytics, including basic metric building and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of integration architecture, including application integration, data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings, and data dictionary reports.
  • Familiarity with web services such as XML, REST, and SOAP.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI; GoodData is preferred.
  • Broad experience with multiple RDBMS platforms such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SaaS or cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Experience with data warehouse design concepts such as star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL and DDL query tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
