Description

  • Design and run experimentation to measure causal impact through randomized holdouts, uplift analysis, significance testing, and power analysis.
  • Build predictive and forecasting models for donor lifetime value, retention, lapse risk, and fundraising goal attainment.
  • Own model quality by defining evaluation standards, accuracy thresholds, and monitoring for AI products and agents.
  • Manage the ML lifecycle on Databricks and MLflow, including training, deployment, versioning, and drift/performance monitoring.
  • Set the technical direction for data science methods, tooling, modeling, measurement, and validation.
  • Partner daily with data engineers, AI engineers, and product teams across the stack.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor daily for analysis, modeling, evaluation, and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of applied data science experience delivering production models that moved real business metrics.
  • Deep hands-on experience with causal inference and experimentation, including A/B testing, randomized holdouts, uplift modeling, treatment-effect modeling, significance testing, and power analysis.
  • Experience with predictive and statistical modeling for propensity, churn, retention, lifetime value, time series, forecasting, and calibration.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with familiarity in modern ML and statistics tools such as scikit-learn and gradient boosting.
  • Real experience deploying, versioning, and monitoring models with tools such as MLflow or Langfuse, or similar.
  • Comfort working on a lakehouse platform, with Databricks preferred.
  • Daily hands-on use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar environments.
  • Curiosity about LLM and agent evaluation techniques and the pace of AI-driven change.
  • Technical leadership experience in a principal-level individual contributor role.
  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration with data engineers, AI/ML engineers, and product.
  • Strong attention to security, data trust, and consent posture for cross-organization analytics.
  • Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or CRM data is a plus.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms or sequential testing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 or medallion lakehouse modeling is a plus.
