Description

  • Represent Block to mid-market merchants as a thought leader in the payments landscape and communicate the company’s value proposition.
  • Own negotiations and execution for expansions and renewals using milestone tracking, KPIs, and partner alignment.
  • Develop data-driven account plans and portfolio strategies to maximize growth for both Block and merchant partners.
  • Deliver business narratives that help existing partners understand the value of Cash App and Afterpay.
  • Manage a book of business across multiple verticals and geographies, with responsibility for revenue outcomes, retention, and partner satisfaction.
  • Build and deepen relationships with merchant decision makers, including senior executives at major brands.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Customer Service.
  • Represent merchant feedback internally and communicate market insights in a structured, proactive way.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination with external partner teams to move deals and initiatives forward.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in account management, business development, sales, GTM, or strategy roles.
  • Experience in high-growth environments, preferably at a fast-moving technology or financial services company.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and earn trust at senior leadership and C-suite levels.
  • A proven track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Comfort working across product development processes, preferably in payments.
  • Experience interfacing credibly with technical, marketing, product, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate in ambiguity and frequent change while delivering results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and analysis to build convincing arguments.
  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts and working with financial models.
  • Creative storytelling ability and attention to detail.
