Description

  • Define, reinforce, and execute the overall creative vision for a cohesive third-person tactical shooter experience.
  • Translate the game vision into clear cross-disciplinary priorities for design, engineering, art, and audio.
  • Oversee gameplay systems, AI behaviors, narrative tone, presentation, and overall product quality.
  • Lead and support discipline leaders while fostering a collaborative, accountable team culture.
  • Work with production to plan, scope, and sequence development, identifying risks and tradeoffs early.
  • Establish quality bars and review processes to ensure consistency, clarity, and fun across the game.
  • Contribute hands-on when needed to unblock teams, prototype solutions, or guide features through critical phases.
  • Coordinate with other directors to maintain alignment as features evolve and creative intent changes.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of game development experience, including significant time in senior creative leadership roles such as Game Director or Creative Director.
  • Proven track record of leading and shipping high-quality titles with a strong, cohesive creative vision.
  • Deep understanding of third-person shooter gameplay, including camera systems, combat feel, and player feedback.
  • Experience overseeing squad coordination systems, AI-driven teammates, and contextual player commands.
  • Strong grasp of pacing and player experience design in tightly scoped, high-intensity gameplay formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to align and lead cross-disciplinary teams toward a unified product vision.
  • Strong production awareness with experience balancing creative ambition against scope, schedule, and technical constraints.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive clarity at all levels.
  • Experience working on or playing military shooters or other tactically grounded gameplay experiences is preferred.
  • Familiarity with building premium experiences with strong replayability is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AI systems and player-AI interaction at a systemic level is preferred.
  • Appreciation for blending cinematic presentation with responsive, player-first gameplay is preferred.
  • Passion for delivering tightly crafted, immersive experiences with a high level of polish and cohesion is preferred.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside within Canada.

Benefits

  • Remote-first workplace with flexible work arrangements.
  • Regular full-time employment.
  • Salary range of $170,000 to $195,000 per year.
