Description

  • Lead, develop, hire, coach, and retain the Enterprise Data delivery team across Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Domain Enablement, and Data Governance.
  • Establish delivery rhythms for planning, prioritization, capacity, roadmap and dependency tracking, risk escalation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Translate enterprise data strategy and business-domain priorities into sequenced delivery plans for platform onboarding, source integration, data products, semantic enablement, and governance.
  • Partner with business leaders to shape intake, clarify outcomes, assess readiness, prioritize use cases, and set delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery, resolve dependencies, and escalate decisions requiring platform, architecture, security, infrastructure, or executive direction.
  • Ensure data products meet production-readiness standards for quality, documentation, ownership, lineage, security, access controls, and maintainability.
  • Review technical approaches, risks, and tradeoffs to prevent duplicated, ungoverned, or unsustainable data assets.
  • Align domain delivery with shared ingestion, transformation, deployment, semantic, reliability, observability, and governance standards.
  • Monitor delivery health through roadmap progress, throughput, domain enablement time, adoption, quality, operational stability, and unresolved dependencies.
  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, investment needs, and tradeoffs to business and technology leadership.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI/data platforms, data architecture, or related technical data disciplines.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing technical teams delivering data, analytics, data products, or data platforms.
  • Demonstrated success leading delivery across multiple business domains and balancing competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of lakehouse architecture, data pipelines, Bronze/Silver/Gold patterns, dimensional modeling, semantic layers, data quality, metadata, lineage, and governed access.
  • Hands-on Databricks experience, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL, Workflows, or related lakehouse capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate and challenge technical delivery approaches without serving as the primary implementer for every solution.
  • Experience translating business priorities into outcome-oriented roadmaps, scoped plans, and realistic delivery sequencing.
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders and software engineering, cloud/infrastructure, security, governance, and architecture teams.
  • Strong judgment, communication, organizational leadership, and stakeholder-management skills in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Experience building or scaling enterprise data functions, leading multi-domain platforms or migrations, managing distributed teams, or working in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government (preferred).
