Description

  • Establish engineering vision and translate strategic intent into scalable technical execution.
  • Drive technical direction and engineering strategy across enterprise engineering platforms.
  • Build and improve the paved path for the QMARS team.
  • Support developer experience, platform observability, and design/content enablement.
  • Help maintain and modernize software for the CMS QMARS online case management system.
  • Contribute to solutions that reduce provider burden, minimize CMS costs, and improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Collaborate in a mission-driven, service design and product-thinking environment.
  • Work across AWS-based infrastructure and platform components.
  • Apply a DevSecOps mindset with security considered throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • AWS CDK and CloudFormation experience.
  • Experience with AWS services including API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, and SNS.
  • Knowledge of VPN concepts including subnets, IP addressing, and routing.
  • Experience with networking and DNS troubleshooting, including Route53, nslookup, A records, and CNAME records.
  • Experience with AWS EKS and Kubernetes.
  • Willingness to learn new services.
  • Strong security mindset with DevSecOps / shift-left practices.
  • Experience with AWS ECS/ECR, Lambda, EC2, or Step Functions is preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, DataDog, or PagerDuty is preferred.
  • Experience with deployment tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions is preferred.
  • Experience with security groups and IAM roles is preferred.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card only; no sponsorship.
  • US residency for at least the past 3 years.
  • Ability to qualify for Public Trust clearance and complete a US Government background investigation.
