Description

  • Design and build durable, reusable Marketplace platform services and primitives such as purchase orders, contract terms, invoicing rails, and workflow state machines.
  • Architect fine-grained microservices and asynchronous workflow orchestration for scalable, reliable, maintainable systems.
  • Partner with customers to scope problems, launch new products in about 30 days, and iterate based on direct feedback.
  • Improve launched products by optimizing workflows, click paths, quality, craftsmanship, adoption, and usage.
  • Build and refine AI-native systems, including agent harnesses, layered prompting systems, and document-processing workflows.
  • Use document extraction and LLM tools to extract and reason over unstructured documents such as loan covenants, plans and specs, appraisals, and inspection reports.
  • Build and maintain internal evaluation tooling to test and improve AI systems before and after launch.
  • Collaborate with product, design, sales, and the General Manager on customer problems, pricing input, and scale/pivot/kill decisions.
  • Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and architecture feedback.
  • Maintain clear service and product-API boundaries as the team’s footprint grows.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong backend and distributed-systems fundamentals.
  • Experience designing reliable, maintainable services and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience shipping 0-to-1 products or features in a fast-iteration environment with real customers.
  • Experience with design-partner or similar customer validation approaches.
  • Experience integrating multiple LLM providers such as Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI.
  • Experience with document extraction tools such as AWS Textract and GCP Document AI.
  • Experience building agent harnesses, RAG pipelines, or other AI/LLM-integrated workflows with eval and testing practices.
  • Data engineering, ML, or heavy document-processing background is a strong plus.
  • Comfort working across the stack in a full-stack-capable role; experience in financial services, construction, real estate, payments, lending, or insurance is a differentiator.
  • Travel to Nashville at least twice per year if not based in the Nashville area.
