Description

  • Lead network projects including network establishment, upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
  • Configure and maintain Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switches and routers, and other networking equipment.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Perform production system upgrades and debug sessions independently in mission-critical live systems.
  • Implement network security best practices and conduct regular security audits.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve network-related challenges.
  • Deploy network infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools and pipelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
  • Design, integrate, and implement public safety network solutions for 911 and government customers.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a network engineer or equivalent in critical service industries.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex network solutions.
  • Strong experience with AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, ingress/egress architectures, and Route 53.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning, designing, implementing, and operating enterprise IT and data center network environments.
  • Hands-on configuration and operational experience with Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN infrastructure, Cisco switches, and routers.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with private and public transport connectivity in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and DNS.
  • Experience building rack, cabinet, and cage infrastructure for highly available and resilient networks.
  • Proven expertise in SD-WAN planning, design, implementation, and multi-site operations.
  • Experience with network monitoring and optimization tools, including identifying voice and video quality issues.
  • Ability to debug production systems and perform deep packet capture analysis independently.
  • Experience with data analytics and resolving complex problems independently.
  • Working experience with IaC tools such as Terragrunt, Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
  • Working experience with Git and DevOps tools such as Visual Studio Code, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-activity, fast-paced environment and handle ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Some roles may require legal eligibility to work in a firearms environment.
