Description

Lead the development and maintenance of dbt-enabled data models in Snowflake's Medallion architecture.
Transform raw data into Silver and Gold layers to support analytics and reporting.
Build and optimise data structures that power customer-facing BI products.
Design high-quality datasets for core applications, AI features, and LLM-driven functionality.
Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate planning, architecture, and coding work.
Collaborate with Warehouse Data Engineers to improve upstream data quality.
Work with Product Managers and domain experts to translate business requirements into technical schemas.
Support data quality and observability practices using Datadog and dbt tests.
Review code and champion analytics engineering best practices within the team.

Requirements

Extensive experience building complex, performant data models in a modern warehouse such as Snowflake or Databricks, ideally using dbt.
Deep understanding of Jinja, macros, and dbt project structure.
Strong SQL skills for analytics use cases.
Comfort using basic Python for data manipulation tasks outside the standard SQL layer.
Proven experience with Bronze/Silver/Gold or similar medallion-style warehouse architectures.
Experience building data products for both external and internal customers.
Proactive interest in AI's impact on data engineering and experience using AI tools such as Cursor, CoCo, or LLMs.
Ability to bridge technical data engineering work with Product Managers and domain experts.
Experience working in an environment where quality, performance, and observability are core responsibilities.
Familiarity with Power BI or similar BI tools such as Looker, and with optimising data layers for BI consumption.
Experience with DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and automated testing frameworks.

Remote working arrangement.
Salary of £75,000 - £80,000.
32 days holiday including Bank Holidays, made up of 25 days annual leave plus 7 company-wide days.
