Description

  • Own customer success through the design and delivery of a multi-year, multi-stakeholder software roadmap across multiple teams.
  • Leverage internal engineering teams to rapidly deliver capabilities beyond current platform scope and evolve architecture over time.
  • Partner with external teams on interfacing requirements between diverse systems and technologies.
  • Drive architecture selection and design for robotic systems, including compute, storage, network architecture, hardware selection, and service orchestration.
  • Contribute to the company-wide roadmap for software inputs to autonomous systems.
  • Lead teams developing software that runs on- and off-platform across multiple technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software engineering in a multi-stakeholder environment with engineering, business, and sales leadership.
  • Drive development processes for initial delivery and iteration of software, including full lifecycle testing.
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that support software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Senior Software Engineers.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to co-locate with end users and other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a leadership position within a high-performing technology organization.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer with one or more domains and/or technologies of expertise.
  • Systems and/or application programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Ability to work holistically across the software stack through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
  • Ability to act as the technical owner for an entire software system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to learn and grow individually while mentoring senior team members and building team cohesion and capacity.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in a senior role delivering a military mission system (preferred).
  • Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++, Rust, and/or Go (preferred).
  • Experience writing frontend applications using Typescript and React (preferred).
  • Experience with horizontally scaled cloud technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with embedded software, particularly in robotics, (preferred).
  • Experience with modeling and simulation (preferred).
  • Experience developing high-assurance safety-critical software (preferred).
  • Experience across the product delivery lifecycle, including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts (preferred).
  • Interest in growing into Principal Software Engineer, Senior Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager roles (preferred).
