Description

  • Drive engineering execution across multiple teams and build alignment with stakeholders.
  • Use Jira, Confluence, and other program tools to run sprint cadence, track milestones, and organize planning artifacts.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and mitigations clearly to leadership and adjacent stakeholders.
  • Understand system architecture and influence engineering decisions across software, hardware, test and evaluation, and product teams.
  • Lead coordination with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify team and program goals and milestones.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop durable improvements to team workflows and developer experience.
  • Build and manage 6- to 12-month roadmaps with clear milestones based on cross-functional input.
  • Engage external stakeholders to surface prototype pain points and support prototype deployment in the field at customer events.
  • Teach and support other engineers while serving as a legacy subject matter expert.
  • Track industry technologies and identify those applicable to defense problems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, Engineering Manager, or Engineer in commercial technology or aerospace and defense.
  • Strong technical background with familiarity in systems engineering, software development, networking, and hardware engineering.
  • Experience shepherding complex technical projects from concept to prototype to full-rate production.
  • Ability to work in minimally structured environments with minimal direction.
  • Proven client-facing technical program management and/or systems engineering experience.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into business-impact insights.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, up to 30%.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Preferred: Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience designing and developing software.
  • Preferred: PMP certification.
  • Preferred: Experience in UX design for complex systems or products.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to design and implement best practices that improve operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with defense acquisition processes, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Preferred: Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to support decisions.
  • Preferred: Active U.S. Top Secret clearance.
