Description

  • Drive product development and production quality for the ALTIUS product by supporting early design engagement, risk reduction, failure mode avoidance, and quality planning.
  • Review drawings, work instructions, and process definitions, and support inspection, acceptance testing, verification, validation, and qualification of parts, sub-assemblies, and vehicles.
  • Lead the quality plan for the product and resolve quality ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance.
  • Champion the transition from new product introduction to a sustainable, predictable, high-rate manufacturing process and supply chain.
  • Own product risk reduction and manage quality issues from concept through development, manufacturing, and field use.
  • Work cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap for changes and customer acceptance testing.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action, corrective action board, and material review board activities, including review of action effectiveness and lesson sharing.
  • Lead product health data analysis and improvement activities, and establish metrics to measure quality performance and predictors of quality.
  • Support continuous improvement of the product Quality Management System, including quality documentation and processes.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to Arsenal 1 and critical suppliers with the Supplier Quality Engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense or similar hardware.
  • Working knowledge of quality management for precision mechanical parts and sub-assemblies, PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites, propulsion systems, and lethality systems.
  • Experience driving product quality and performance requirements into test and measurement system development and optimization.
  • Experience leading the transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing for product quality coverage.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements such as MSA, and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to apply industry standards and best practices to meet government customer quality expectations.
  • Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills in data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools such as MatLab, JMP, and MiniTab.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Master’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience developing quality systems for low-volume, highly complex manufacturing environments and suppliers is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with IPC standards and general workmanship standards is preferred.
  • Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements for aerial vehicle quality is preferred.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, NetSuite, SolidWorks/NX, Jira, Foundry, Forge/MES, and Altium or other PCBA and harness design software is preferred.
