Description

  • Lead FPGA architecture, standards, development, and review processes.
  • Design, architect, simulate, and integrate VHDL designs into FPGAs or systems on chip for optimized performance, resource use, and power efficiency.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate firmware into the overall system, including processor bring-up and board support packages.
  • Develop robust test benches in VHDL and Verilog and validate designs using lab tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Optimize algorithms for hardware acceleration, including MIPS optimization and efficient use of AXI or AXI-Stream bus protocols.
  • Define, complete, and analyze the design of new product lines with an interdisciplinary technical team.
  • Build prototypes and support their progression into ground and flight testing.
  • Mature prototypes into production-ready products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices.
  • Expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design.
  • Experience with FPGA design tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus.
  • Strong hardware/software debugging skills using standard lab equipment.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience with multi-gigabit SERDES, DDR memory busses, Ethernet MAC and PHY interfaces, FPGAs, SPI, and I2C.
  • Preferred: Embedded software development experience using timers, interrupts, and hardware peripherals such as SPI controllers and ADCs.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of embedded Linux development, including device trees, hardware drivers, bootloaders, and basic Unix/Linux tools.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Python and MATLAB.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with infrared image sensor technology.
