Description

  • Contribute to and collaborate with the WirePlumber, PipeWire, and ALSA upstream communities.
  • Design, integrate, and ship embedded Linux audio systems for real-world products.
  • Implement and debug PipeWire and WirePlumber stacks, including ALSA, DSPs, and system-level interactions.
  • Work directly with customer teams to translate requirements into robust audio architectures and solutions.
  • Support adjacent areas such as Bluetooth audio and Linux audio tooling when needed to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Explain complex audio architecture decisions to product teams and provide honest technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and the community to deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
  • Review and discuss real patches and technical trade-offs as part of project work.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with the Linux audio stack, including PipeWire, WirePlumber, and ALSA.
  • Strong proficiency in C and systems-level programming.
  • Solid understanding of audio concepts such as latency, formats, synchronization, buffering, and resampling.
  • Proven ability to debug complex issues across multiple layers of a Linux system.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers in a consulting or support capacity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with ALSA kernel driver development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Rust is preferred.
  • Exposure to Bluetooth audio technologies such as A2DP, HFP, and LE Audio is preferred.
  • Experience with embedded or real-time Linux systems is preferred.
