Description

  • Lead and manage environmental lab projects from quoting and planning through execution, data review, failure analysis, and final reporting.
  • Develop and implement qualification testing strategies for aerospace, military, and space hardware.
  • Ensure environmental testing activities comply with program requirements and industry standards.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for dynamic and environmental testing.
  • Oversee operation and troubleshooting of data acquisition and control systems, wiring, and instrumentation.
  • Direct the operation and maintenance of environmental test equipment such as shaker tables, thermal chambers, altitude chambers, and thermal vacuum chambers.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of hourly and salaried employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and technical capability.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven, and safety-focused team environment.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in environmental testing, including 7+ years in a management or leadership role.
  • Extensive practical experience with environmental test standards such as MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, and SMC-S-016.
  • Proven ability to operate, manage, and troubleshoot environmental testing equipment including shaker tables, thermal chambers, altitude chambers, and thermal vacuum chambers.
  • Expertise with data acquisition systems and sensors such as NI cDAQs, accelerometers, and thermocouples.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in an engineering discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift and carry equipment up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Knowledge of hazardous or pressurized systems such as cryogenics, hydraulics, jet fuels, and energy storage systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and control components such as load cells, pressure transducers, strain gauges, and RTDs (preferred).
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language such as Python or Matlab (preferred).
  • Experience with 3D modeling software and PLM tools such as Siemens NX and Teamcenter (preferred).
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, troubleshooting, and creative problem-solving skills (preferred).
  • Experience developing novel solutions to complex testing issues (preferred).
