Description

  • Own regional facilities performance outcomes, including work order completion, preventive maintenance compliance, backlog reduction, and asset condition.
  • Lead and coach Facilities Managers and site maintenance teams through regular performance check-ins, development discussions, and accountability follow-up.
  • Design, implement, and enforce regional workflows, processes, and standard operating procedures to improve operational consistency.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance strategy for HVAC, appliances, life-safety systems, and building infrastructure across the region.
  • Track asset health, documentation, and lifecycle planning to extend asset life and improve long-term stability.
  • Partner with Operations, Asset Management, Capital, Human Resources, and executive leadership on planning, escalation, project oversight, and corrective action.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including vetting, approving, bidding, pricing, quality, safety, and scope alignment.
  • Conduct structured site visits, facility assessments, and leadership alignment reviews, then assign priorities, owners, timelines, and follow-up actions.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, spend monitoring, and cost-efficiency initiatives tied to NOI and resource allocation.
  • Provide clear problem statements, options, and recommendations when representing facilities across cross-functional discussions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of facilities or maintenance management, or operational experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on maintenance or technical 'wrench time' experience within the 5+ years of management experience.
  • Experience leading people, multi-site operations, and large projects.
  • Broad facilities knowledge, with trade expertise preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Comfort using CMMS and performance analytics tools.
  • IFMA FMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical trade school education preferred.
  • 1–2+ years of capital project management experience preferred.
  • 2–3 years of compliance and life-safety expertise preferred.
  • 2+ years using job performance analytics tools preferred.
  • Multifamily or commercial facilities experience preferred.
  • Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and move across uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to access roofs, mechanical rooms, and maintenance areas and lift/carry up to 50 lbs or more.
  • 24/7 on-call availability for emergency response.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
