Description

  • Manage assigned program initiatives from planning through implementation and evaluation.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and workstreams while ensuring timely deliverables.
  • Conduct research, landscape analyses, and environmental scans to inform programs and funding decisions.
  • Synthesize research, field insights, and grantee learning into reports, briefings, and presentations.
  • Manage relationships with grantees, community organizations, researchers, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate meetings, convenings, site visits, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Review grant proposals, conduct due diligence, and develop funding recommendations.
  • Monitor grant and program performance, track outcomes, and identify opportunities for learning and improvement.
  • Represent the Fund at regional and national conferences, community meetings, and field events.
  • Collaborate with AIR researchers, subject-matter experts, and operational staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public policy, public health, social sciences, education, nonprofit management, community development, or a related field.
  • At least four years of professional experience combining applied research with philanthropy, grantmaking, social impact investing, or related funding experience.
  • Subject-matter expertise in workforce and economic opportunity, health, and/or youth pathways.
  • Familiarity with communities in the Midwest, Deep South, or Washington, DC region, particularly Chicago, Cleveland, Arkansas, Alabama, or Mississippi.
  • Experience using research, evaluation, or data-driven approaches to inform programs, funding, strategy, or organizational learning.
  • Experience managing grant portfolios, philanthropic initiatives, research projects, or community-based programs.
  • Experience working with community organizations, research institutions, public agencies, philanthropic organizations, or cross-sector partnerships.
  • Strong research, analytical, communication, presentation, relationship-building, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
  • Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship; must be based in or near a priority region and able to travel up to 30%.

Benefits

  • Anticipated annual salary of $105,000–$130,000 USD.
