Description

  • Engage with North American plant-floor customers to identify opportunities for technology concepts and proof-of-value testing.
  • Develop new digital technology solutions, including vision inspection systems and AI/ML analysis of machine and sensor data.
  • Analyze user and customer needs and manufacturing problems, then align them with product and technology opportunities.
  • Contribute to the execution of the IoT strategy and roadmap for selected areas.
  • Monitor emerging technologies for future IoT applications and project opportunities.
  • Support analytical processes, including machine learning, in proof-of-technology concepts and deployed IoT projects.
  • Collaborate on the development of reliable solutions that improve client competitiveness.
  • Survey client manufacturing business needs and help shape digital solution strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an engineering-related field such as electrical, controls, systems, computer science, or data science, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment controls, network design, embedded systems, machine learning, and/or data engineering.
  • Experience focused on the automotive industry.
  • Understanding of machine parameter data that reflects component health, proper operation, and product quality impact.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment controls and logic, preferably with Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, or Omron PLCs.
  • Understanding of computer vision algorithms, including segmentation, morphology, pose estimation, camera calibration, image enhancement, feature extraction, classification, 3D vision, and deep learning.
  • Experience implementing vision algorithms in C++, Python, HALCON, Matrox, Cognex, and/or Keyence using traditional rules and/or deep learning.
  • Experience with vibration, audio, or current signature analysis.
  • Ability to work on-site with plant-floor customers to test and develop technology concepts.
