Description

  • Build and maintain software applications within the enterprise product suite.
  • Work with product managers and designers to solve novel product problems.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to integrate and optimize commercial LLM APIs.
  • Improve code quality, extensibility, scalability, and test coverage across software projects.
  • Make architecture and cloud engineering decisions with other engineers.
  • Develop and improve infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring and observability tools.
  • Improve internal developer tools, workflows, and engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the full application stack.
  • Mentor junior team members and participate in incident response and disaster recovery efforts.
  • Provide feedback to management on team quality, the tech stack, and stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with Python in core application code.
  • Experience building modern cloud-native applications using serverless technologies such as API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with relational databases and data modeling, with Postgres preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code in AWS, such as CloudFormation or SAM.
  • Experience with RESTful API design and documentation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and ECS.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise-scale cloud engineering in AWS and the modern agile software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency using AI tools in the software development lifecycle, such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot, and/or API integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Interest in team leadership and career growth, with preferred experience building applications on top of LLMs using commercial APIs.
  • Preferred familiarity with Postgres query optimization and database indexing, as well as Python data science tools such as numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, and pandas.
  • Preferred experience with monitoring and observability across deployments and tenants.
  • Preferred interest in application security and cloud security.
