Description

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for enterprise sales opportunities across Actian’s data intelligence offerings, with primary focus on data governance, catalog, and observability.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
  • Provide pre-sales support through needs analysis, technology review, requirements definition, and solution scoping.
  • Create and deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and technical workshops for prospects, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and support proof-of-concept projects in competitive sales situations.
  • Assess customer business problems and map Actian’s products and services to their technical and business needs.
  • Provide guidance on resolving customer-specific technical challenges and act as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Research prospects and competitive/complementary technologies to inform positioning and recommendations.
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to improve products, messaging, and market positioning.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships and serve as a liaison between customers, product management, and development.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role working with customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, including whiteboarding, demos, and formal presentations.
  • Knowledge of the full data intelligence workflow, from source systems and ETL to data platforms and analytics tools.
  • Strong experience in data catalog, integration, databases, data warehouses, and data processing.
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL and SQL analytics.
  • Track record of successfully selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers.
  • Experience identifying key stakeholders, value propositions, and compelling events in enterprise deals.
  • Experience with relational and large-scale analytics databases such as Oracle, Informix, SQL Server, Snowflake, Netezza, or Teradata.
  • Familiarity with BI and data exploration tools such as PowerBI, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-a-service platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience implementing ETL pipelines using custom and packaged tools.
  • Experience using GCP, AWS, and/or Azure services.
  • Experience supporting enterprise SaaS software.
