Description

  • Partner with the sales team to identify and close new business opportunities.
  • Provide pre-sales support including needs analysis, technology review, requirements definition, and scoping.
  • Create and deliver product presentations and demonstrations for prospects, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and execute proof-of-concept projects in competitive sales situations.
  • Work with customers and partners to understand business needs and map Actian offerings to those needs.
  • Provide competitive analysis and positioning guidance against complementary technologies and vendors.
  • Advise customers on resolving technical challenges and act as a trusted technical advisor on architecture.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to improve products and go-to-market materials.
  • Research companies and prospects to identify business issues and support recommendations.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships and follow up on sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role working with customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, including whiteboarding, demos, and presentations.
  • Strong background in databases, data warehouses, and data processing.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with SQL and SQL analytics.
  • Proven success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers.
  • Experience identifying key stakeholders, value propositions, and compelling events in enterprise sales cycles.
  • Experience with relational and large-scale analytics databases such as Oracle, Informix, SQL Server, Snowflake, Netezza, or Teradata.
  • Experience with AI vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, or Chroma.
  • Experience with the modern AI stack, including infrastructure, orchestration, frameworks, and AI governance.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with BI and data exploration tools such as PowerBI, Looker, or Tableau.
