Description

  • Own complex customer environments and provide product support for Hadoop and Spark-based systems.
  • Provide tier-2/3 support for data and performance issues across the full Hadoop technical stack.
  • Perform deep-dive debugging and optimization of Hadoop clusters, including NiFi, Impala, and Spark jobs.
  • Lead support efforts for Hadoop migrations and upgrades, including post-migration stability and issue resolution.
  • Design and optimize distributed Hadoop-based applications for low-latency, high-throughput big data workloads.
  • Collaborate closely with customer engineering teams to deliver and support high-throughput Hadoop and Spark applications.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Bridge coverage across EST and PST hours and participate in weekend support coverage.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working in Hadoop environments.
  • Strong technical proficiency in core Hadoop services, including HDFS, YARN, and Hive/Impala.
  • Good working knowledge of Kafka, NiFi, Ambari, and Cloudera Manager internals.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and debugging Hadoop components.
  • Advanced Linux skills, including configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting Red Hat and Debian-based distributions.
  • Good to have proficiency in Python, Bash, or Scala for automation and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to adapt working hours to bridge EST and PST coverage.
  • Willingness to provide weekend coverage.
  • Strong desire to tackle difficult technical problems with little or no daily supervision.
