Description

  • Promote Acadia products to healthcare professionals in person and virtually with compliant clinical, disease-state, and reimbursement information.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan to meet or exceed sales objectives using market data, customer insights, and quarterly action plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Handle customer questions, concerns, and objections using advanced dialogue and selling skills.
  • Customize approved sales aids, clinical reprints, and brand resources to fit customer needs.
  • Partner with internal teams such as managed markets, operations, sales training, and marketing to deliver coordinated solutions.
  • Provide guidance on pricing, reimbursement, and specialty distribution issues and serve as a liaison for access-related concerns.
  • Track and report sales activity, business expenses, and customer interactions accurately and on time.
  • Represent Acadia at conferences, exhibits, trainings, and national, regional, and local meetings.
  • Mentor and train new sales specialists and contribute to cross-functional projects and field insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences preferred.
  • 1-2 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience for Sales Specialist roles, with neuroscience preferred.
  • 5+ years of healthcare sales experience for Senior Specialist roles, including 2+ years in complex or account-based selling.
  • 12+ years of healthcare sales experience for Executive Specialist roles, including 3+ years in complex or account-based selling.
  • Demonstrated advanced selling skills, leadership ability, and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to influence diverse healthcare professional audiences across multiple care settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and deliver strong results consistently.
  • Must reside within the territory or within 30 miles of its border, and be eligible to drive a company vehicle with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including up to 80% travel, overnight stays, air travel as needed, and occasional after-hours work; travel to Hawaii is required.
  • Must comply with vaccination requirements for access to healthcare professional offices, long-term care facilities, and medical conferences.
  • Deep understanding of neuroscience disease states, Acadia products, local/regional market dynamics, and payer dynamics including Part D and specialty pharmacy/hub distribution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual engagement platforms such as Zoom and WebEx.
