Description

  • Achieve underwriting performance and revenue goals for the Lawyers Professional Liability segment.
  • Price LPL accounts quickly and accurately in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Manage quote-related communication with brokers and serve as an underwriting resource on coverage nuances.
  • Collaborate with underwriting leadership and the broader Risk Engineering team on complex LPL exposures.
  • Provide market feedback and recommend improvements to terms, rates, guidelines, coverage structures, and policy forms.
  • Support development of underwriting guidelines, decision trees, and rating logic with product and data teams.
  • Bind accounts by maintaining regular engagement with assigned brokers and improving quote-to-bind efficiency.
  • Represent Counterpart at broker meetings and industry events.
  • Contribute feedback on tools, services, and digital workflows to support the LPL product roadmap.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of underwriting experience in Lawyers Professional Liability or a closely related professional liability line.
  • A network of brokers, carriers, underwriters, or clients in the professional liability insurance space.
  • Expertise in specialty liability products, including rating procedures, policy forms, applications, and coverage endorsements.
  • Ability to engage brokers and build long-term, profitable brokerage relationships.
  • Confidence presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in sales and account management practices.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-velocity environment with continuous challenges.
  • Flexibility to travel at least once per month when necessary.
  • College degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
