Description

  • Analyze data integrity issues by investigating, correcting, and monitoring data in SQL and related data stores.
  • Perform root cause analysis using SQL, logs, and code to identify and fix data errors and inconsistencies.
  • Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and AWS services.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to communicate project status, recommendations, and feature progress.
  • Gather requirements and present developed features to clients clearly and effectively.
  • Write performant, scalable, secure, and well-tested client code.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and related governance activities.
  • Work closely with engineers, designers, and managers to address user pain points and iterate on solutions.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to the Engineering Practice community and Communities of Practice.
  • Drive project delivery independently from conceptualization through deployment within defined architecture.

Requirements

  • Experience with Node.js backend development and building enterprise-level systems.
  • Experience using AWS serverless and backend services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.
  • Ability to investigate data issues by querying DynamoDB/RDS and reviewing logs and code.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, including abstraction and encapsulation.
  • Good knowledge of SOLID principles and familiarity with OWASP.
  • High-level design proficiency using UML, C4, or ArchiMate.
  • Experience creating well-tested, scalable, and performant software.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers and supporting technical decision-making.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Preferred: Experience optimizing backend performance and troubleshooting issues.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with modern frontend build tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred: Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, ORMs, and design patterns.
  • Preferred: Professional software engineering experience on multi-discipline teams.
  • Preferred: Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive communication abilities.
