Description

Design and implement robust, scalable backend services using Python 3.9+ and Django 4.2+.
Own and optimize the data layer, including complex PostgreSQL queries and database migrations in AWS RDS.
Design and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for core platform functionality.
Drive quality through unit testing, code reviews, and clean code practices.
Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues using tools such as Sentry and CloudWatch.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to keep the platform responsive as it scales.
Collaborate in a fully remote environment with international teammates and stakeholders.
Support the ongoing evolution of a compliance-focused learning and development platform.

Requirements

5+ years of professional backend development experience with strong Python expertise.
Deep experience with Django, including Django ORM and Django REST Framework.
Strong PostgreSQL database management and performance tuning experience.
Solid AWS experience, including RDS, S3, and EC2.
Experience with application monitoring and error-tracking tools such as Sentry.
Strong commitment to automated testing and clean code principles.
Fluent English and excellent communication skills for a remote, collaborative team.
Experience with Docker and container orchestration is preferred.
Security-first mindset, ideally with experience in SOC2 or similar audit/compliance environments.
Knowledge of Celery for background task processing or FastAPI/other modern Python async frameworks is a plus.
