Description

  • Develop research, writing, and analytical support across a wide range of schooling and legal matters, including education law, facilities, real estate, special education, intellectual property, tax exemption, employment, and contract review.
  • Support special projects for Zeta’s operations, including drafting program descriptions and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Research and help draft grant applications and identify grant opportunities.
  • Monitor education-related policy and legislative developments.
  • Advance policy strategies that expand access to high-quality public education.
  • Support compliance reporting and oversight for regulatory and grant requirements.
  • Work closely with the legal team and report to Zeta’s Legal Counsel.
  • Take on additional projects and tasks as needed in a lean, collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a law student who has completed at least one year of law school before the internship begins.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write quickly.
  • Strong research, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong academic record and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated passion for Zeta Charter Schools’ mission, vision, and core values.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and support teammates in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Application materials include a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a legal writing sample of 5 pages or less.
