Description

  • Serve as the internal owner of the workers’ compensation program and oversee day-to-day program operations.
  • Manage relationships with the insurance carrier, third-party administrator, and other external claims partners.
  • Review open claims regularly, challenge reserving where appropriate, and monitor claim lifecycle activity.
  • Track litigation on higher-exposure claims and coordinate strategy with external partners.
  • Analyze loss runs to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for loss reduction.
  • Prepare regular reporting and forecasting on claims performance and deductible exposure for Finance and leadership.
  • Partner with People and Operations teams to improve return-to-work processes and support early intervention efforts.
  • Build scalable workflows for incident reporting and claim tracking across the organization.
  • Improve communication between internal teams and external claims partners.
  • Support education of internal stakeholders on reporting best practices and claim handling processes.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of workers’ compensation claims experience, ideally with a carrier or third-party administrator.
  • Experience handling lost-time and litigated claims.
  • Familiarity with multi-state workers’ compensation environments.
  • Comfort reviewing reserves and understanding claim lifecycle dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to influence external partners.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Experience with workers’ compensation for school or education clients is a plus.
  • Experience supporting an employer-side program or high-deductible structure is a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $90,000-$110,000 a year, inclusive of target bonus, depending on experience.
