Description

  • Design, build, test, monitor, and continuously improve backend features end-to-end.
  • Develop and maintain the matching, ranking, bidding, pro-scoring, and Extra Bids marketplace systems.
  • Build reliable payment, subscription, cashback, promotion, VAT, and ERP integrations across multiple countries and currencies.
  • Improve platform performance, scalability, and zero-downtime operation on Kubernetes.
  • Own production systems through observability, incident debugging, refactoring, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with backend, frontend, mobile, QA, product, and design teammates on a shared roadmap.
  • Establish technical direction, review code, mentor teammates, and drive projects from problem definition through delivery.
  • Contribute to trust and safety, experimentation, CRM integrations, and AI-powered product capabilities.
  • Use GitLab CI, ArgoCD, and Argo Rollouts to continuously deploy production changes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and scaling production backend services.
  • Strong Python, Django, and REST API experience.
  • Experience designing systems and APIs, defining service boundaries, and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
  • Advanced PostgreSQL skills, including data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and concurrency correctness.
  • Experience with asynchronous or distributed systems, background processing, and queues such as Celery.
  • Production ownership, including observability, live incident debugging, and comprehensive testing.
  • Experience leading projects end-to-end through technical direction, code review, and mentoring.
  • Comfort with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and a major cloud platform; AWS preferred.
  • Excellent English and interest in working with a remote, multicultural team.
  • Experience with Terraform, FastAPI, LLM or agentic systems, payments, fintech, marketplaces, or startup environments is preferred.
