Description

  • Design, build, maintain, and release native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Own Android architecture decisions, including modularization, dependency injection, navigation, and state management.
  • Deliver features from technical design through release and post-launch iteration.
  • Manage the Android release process, including signing, App Bundles, Play Console tracks, staged rollouts, pre-launch reports, and crash or ANR triage.
  • Implement automated testing, code review standards, and CI/CD pipelines using Gradle, Fastlane, or equivalent tools.
  • Integrate mini-apps, payment systems, virtual currency, third-party services, APIs, and mobile SDKs.
  • Optimize application performance, memory, battery usage, startup time, and build speed across fragmented devices and OS versions.
  • Build and maintain Compose component libraries, design systems, observability tooling, and release health dashboards.
  • Collaborate with product, design, backend, QA, iOS, React Native, and project teams across distributed time zones.
  • Use, evaluate, and improve AI coding agents, tooling, guardrails, and development practices while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience with deep Kotlin expertise.
  • Commercial Android applications currently live on Google Play.
  • Strong experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, Lifecycle, Room, WorkManager, and Navigation.
  • Knowledge of MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, and state management.
  • Experience with Android testing, including JUnit, Compose UI tests, Espresso, Robolectric, and CI/CD release pipelines.
  • Experience profiling performance with Android Studio Profiler, Macrobenchmark, and Baseline Profiles.
  • Experience supporting fragmented device and OS landscapes, including large-screen and foldable devices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Daily production use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor, including reviewing and validating generated code.
  • Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs, third-party integrations, and mobile SDKs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: experience with widgets, deep links, FCM, Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native integration, Google Play Billing, mobile security, gaming commerce, open source, technical writing, or conference talks.
