Description

  • Foster and manage relationships with Tier 1 and local media outlets and partners across Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and the broader APAC region.
  • Contribute to marketing communications plans, including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics.
  • Develop and execute a strategic media relations plan to secure high-profile placements across print, broadcast, and online media.
  • Coordinate public relations activities, including event logistics and speaking opportunities at regional games, fintech, and web3 events.
  • Collaborate with the integrated marketing manager to create content for traditional and new media channels aligned with regional cultural norms and platform preferences.
  • Cultivate new media contacts within business, technology, gaming, and entertainment industries across APAC.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Write press releases, bylined articles, and presentation scripts.
  • Evaluate partnership, sponsorship, and advertising opportunities within the region’s gaming and entertainment ecosystem.
  • Build relationships with thought leaders, industry associations, and gaming ecosystem stakeholders to increase industry awareness across APAC.
  • Monitor industry trends affecting clients and the APAC gaming market and recommend communication strategy updates.
  • Maintain a content bank of editorial ideas and contribute to thought leadership content creation.

Requirements

  • BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • 6-8 years of experience planning and executing public relations campaigns at domestic and international levels.
  • Meaningful APAC market experience, including Japan.
  • Strong networks with local and international business and industry media outlets across APAC, including Japan.
  • Relationships with content creators and influencers are an added advantage.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across short-form, long-form, branded content, and light ad copywriting.
  • PR event planning and execution experience within APAC, particularly Japan and South Korea.
  • Expertise in crisis communications.
  • Prior work experience in the video game industry is required.
  • Fintech experience is a bonus.
  • Ability to localize press releases for the Japanese market and understand cultural nuances across the region.
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently across time zones, and contribute effectively in a globally distributed team.
  • Proven track record of managing company reputation and launching multiple products across diverse APAC markets.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Excellent performance in cross-functional project teams and with external vendors.
  • Understanding of the skills required to manage customer-centric relationships with partners and regional gaming ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and other local data privacy laws and business practices.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English is required.
  • Proficiency in Korean or Mandarin is a bonus.
