Description

  • Explore new machine learning opportunities and develop proof-of-concepts for Xometry’s platform.
  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models to improve cost, price, and sourcing predictions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI and machine learning technologies and assess their potential impact on the business.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop new platform features with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and define technical solutions.
  • Monitor machine learning model performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Document AI systems and contribute to internal knowledge resources for other teams.
  • Help bring new AI and machine learning solutions from research into production use.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience on engineering teams building large-scale, ML-driven user-facing products.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-team engineering efforts.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art ML techniques such as transformers, self-supervised pre-training, generative modeling, and LLMs.
  • Hands-on experience training and applying models at scale using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience with containers, container orchestration, and distributed systems in a cloud-native environment.
  • Strong software fundamentals, including design patterns, refactoring, object-oriented programming, and testing.
  • Experience building systems with Infrastructure as Code and a shift-left cloud mindset.
  • Comfort working with SQL and/or NoSQL, database design, and data analysis.
  • Experience building and consuming CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working with command-line tools and *nix systems.
  • Strong execution skills in project management.
  • Ability to bridge state-of-the-art approaches to real-world impact.
