Description

  • Design and implement state-of-the-art ML models and large-scale ML systems for self-serve support capabilities.
  • Develop and optimize contextual conversation models and ML-powered resolution flows for common support scenarios.
  • Create and refine training and evaluation pipelines for offline and online environments.
  • Implement ML features that streamline information collection and processing for support agents.
  • Collaborate with product, strategy, content, and engineering teams to propose, prioritize, and deliver AI-driven support features.
  • Stay current with developments in machine learning and AI, especially natural language processing and conversational AI, and apply new ideas to support experiences.
  • Design, train, deploy, and own ML models in production.
  • Work closely with software engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and data scientists to operate ML-powered systems, features, and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in ML/AI or a related field such as math, physics, or statistics.
  • 3+ years of experience in AI/ML and backend engineering, including production ML systems at global scale with stringent SLOs.
  • Experience with privacy, security, and compliance considerations in ML system design.
  • Deep applied LLM experience, including RAG, embeddings, tool use/function calling, agentic planning/orchestration, post-training methods, code generation, and evaluations.
  • Familiarity with classical ML methods and frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Strong distributed systems and data science fundamentals.
  • Experience working closely with product management, design, engineers, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills, including mentoring engineers and driving alignment in ambiguity.
  • MS or PhD in ML/AI or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in Java or Ruby codebases is preferred.
  • Experience designing and owning agentic LLM solutions for complex customer support or internal workflow automation is preferred.
  • Comfort working with distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones is preferred.
