Description

  • Build and maintain server-side features in the Next.js App Router codebase using TypeScript.
  • Design, harden, and maintain integrations with third-party APIs for content, market data, and subscription experiences.
  • Own caching strategy across Redis and Cloudflare, balancing freshness, performance, cost, and crawler behavior.
  • Deploy and operate services on AWS using Docker with instrumentation in DataDog.
  • Write and maintain end-to-end tests with Microsoft Playwright for critical user flows.
  • Optimize rendering and indexing behavior for SEO crawlers, including structured data, sitemaps, canonicalization, hreflang, robots directives, and crawl budget management.
  • Partner with front-end engineers on the server-client seam and collaborate with content, marketing, SEO, and platform teams.
  • Integrate with the CMS for content management.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor as part of the daily workflow.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time on the server side of a production web application.
  • Strong TypeScript and Next.js experience, including App Router, server components, route handlers, ISR, and streaming.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating third-party APIs in production with safe and resilient patterns.
  • Solid grounding in caching and CDN behavior, including Redis or equivalent, Cloudflare or equivalent, cache invalidation, stale-while-revalidate, and edge-versus-origin tradeoffs.
  • Comfort with AWS, Docker, and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Working knowledge of how SEO crawlers render and index sites, including Googlebot behavior, soft 404s, canonical and hreflang tags, Core Web Vitals, and crawl budget.
  • Production observability instincts and experience using DataDog dashboards, logs, and traces.
  • Experience writing maintainable end-to-end tests with Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
  • No sponsorship is available for this position, and you must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the listed U.S. states.
